This website is deliberately built to be frugal. There are no cookies, no advertising trackers and no sharing of your data with third parties — which is why this policy is short.
We process your data only as far as is necessary to operate this website, to answer your enquiry, or to send you the material offers you have explicitly asked for.
We do not use cookies. For simple visitor statistics we use Matomo on our own server — cookie-free, anonymised and without sharing with third parties. There is no advertising tracking and no profiling. We embed no advertising networks, no map services and no external web fonts. Your data is neither passed on to third parties for advertising purposes nor sold.
The controller responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
INTEX Stahlhandel GmbHFor any questions about data protection, or to exercise your rights, please contact us using the details above.
We have not appointed a data protection officer, as the legal requirements for doing so (Section 38 of the German Federal Data Protection Act) do not apply to us.
Each time this website is accessed, our web server automatically collects data transmitted by your browser. This is technically necessary in order to deliver the page at all.
The following is recorded: IP address, date and time of access, the address requested, the previously visited page (referrer), the browser and operating system used, and the volume of data transferred.
Purpose: delivering the website, ensuring stable operation and defending against attacks. For this purpose we operate a firewall and an automatic block on suspicious access attempts.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the technically faultless and secure operation of the website.
Retention period: the logs are automatically deleted after 14 days. They are kept longer only where a specific security incident requires it; the data concerned is then retained until the matter has been resolved.
This data is not combined with other data sources and is not analysed in order to identify individuals.
This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The servers are located in Falkenstein, Germany.
No transfer to countries outside the European Union takes place in this context.
We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Under it, the provider is obliged to process our visitors' data solely on our instructions and in accordance with the GDPR.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a securely and reliably provided website).
The fonts used on this website are served from our own server. No connection to third-party servers is established — in particular, no Google Fonts are loaded. Your IP address is therefore not transmitted to anyone when the fonts are loaded.
This website does not set any cookies and does not use comparable techniques such as local storage for marketing purposes.
For simple visitor statistics we use Matomo — software that we run on our own server in Germany. No data is transferred to third parties (such as Google); everything stays in-house.
Matomo is deliberately configured to be data-minimising: no cookie is set, your IP address is stored in shortened (anonymised) form, and your browser's “Do Not Track” setting is respected — if it is on, you are not counted at all.
This shows us only aggregated figures — such as how many people visited which page — not who you are personally. Because no cookie is set and the data is anonymised, we do not need a cookie banner for this.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in designing our website in a needs-based, secure way). Retention: raw visitor data is automatically deleted after at most 365 days; aggregated evaluations without any personal reference are kept beyond that.
If you contact us by e-mail or telephone, we process the data you provide — usually your name, company, contact details and the content of your enquiry — in order to deal with your request.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to entering into or performing a contract; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).
Retention period: we delete your enquiry once it has been conclusively dealt with and no statutory retention obligations prevent deletion. Retention periods under commercial and tax law (generally six or ten years) remain unaffected.
On this website you can sign up for our material offers by e-mail and record which material you are interested in. Participation is voluntary.
Purpose: we send you e-mails containing material and offer information matching the interests you have recorded. Such mailings are event-driven — they are sent only when we have suitable goods available.
Which data: your e-mail address and — where you provide them — your company, name, position and telephone number. In addition, your material interests: material categories, grades, surfaces, delivery forms, dimension and quantity ranges. We also store the time and wording of your consent so that we are able to demonstrate it.
Legal basis: your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Confirmation procedure: after signing up you will receive an e-mail containing a confirmation link. Your profile is activated only once you click it (double opt-in). Without confirmation the registration does not take effect and the record is deleted again.
Where the data is held: your profile is stored in our internal INTEX system, which runs on the same server in Germany. It is not passed on to third parties and is not used for other companies' advertising.
Withdrawal: you may withdraw your consent at any time and without giving reasons. Every e-mail we send you contains a personal link allowing you to view, change or completely delete your profile without logging in. Withdrawal takes effect for the future; the lawfulness of processing carried out up to that point remains unaffected.
Retention period: we store your profile until you withdraw your consent or delete it. Deletion is final; the data is not archived. Only the record of your consent and its withdrawal may be retained in order to meet our accountability obligation (Art. 5(2) GDPR).
Opening your personal link: the link in our offer emails is assigned to you personally. When you open it, we record that and when the link belonging to your address was accessed — and whether you adjusted your profile while doing so. This helps us judge which offers are of interest to you and assist you specifically. We evaluate only the opening of your own link; there is no tracking pixel in our emails and no tracking of your behaviour on other websites. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in assessing how our own offers perform (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); you may object at any time (Art. 21 GDPR) — a brief note is enough. These records are deleted together with your profile.
No automated profiling: your details are not used to make automated decisions about you. They serve solely to help our staff judge which offer might be of interest to you.
We do not pass your data on to third parties for advertising purposes. Data is transferred only to carefully selected service providers acting for us as processors pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR:
Beyond this, we transfer data only where we are legally obliged to do so — for instance to tax authorities — or where it is necessary to perform a contract with you (for example to a haulage company in the case of a delivery).
This website is delivered exclusively in encrypted form via HTTPS (TLS). You can recognise this by the padlock symbol in your browser. Data transmitted between you and us therefore cannot be read by third parties.
In addition, we operate a firewall on the server, an automatic block on suspicious access attempts, and regular security updates.
You have the following rights against us in respect of your personal data:
Exercising these rights is free of charge. Simply contact us using the details given above.
If you believe that our processing of your data infringes applicable law, you may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is:
Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen
(State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, North Rhine-Westphalia)
Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany
www.ldi.nrw.de
Providing your data is neither required by law nor by contract. You can use our website in full without telling us anything about yourself. We need the relevant details only if you wish to contact us or to receive offer e-mails.
Automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR does not take place.
We update this privacy policy when our website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies in each case. The date of the current version is shown at the top of this page.
